NLRFD Rescue Boat

"The J.W. Springer II" replaced the older rescue boat "The J.W. Springer".  The rescue boat is one of the fire department weapons for fires and rescues on the river. The rescue boat was named for the Late Chief Wesley Springer, who gave 47 years of service to the NLRFD. The J.W. Springer II is manned by Rescue 1 (and Engine 1) of Central Station. The pump has a 3 inch intake, which would receive water from the Arkansas River, and a 2 1/2 inch discharge outlet.
The J.W. Springer II also has the ability for rescues in the Arkansas River should the need arise.
