NLRFD Receives Donation

Donation used for training
Posted on 10/20/2021
THANKS TO THE GOSSER FAMILY FOR THEIR DONATION OF TWO HOUSES TO THE NLR FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR IN-SITUATION TRAINING.
Jenny Gosser Turner, a life-long resident of North Little Rock, recently purchased property in Scott, Arkansas to create a family development. The property included two houses that needed to be raised. Jenny learned the importance of giving back from her parents, Marianne and Dr. Bob Gosser, and continues to look for opportunities to serve her community.
Jenny is continuing her parents’ legacy by donating the use of two houses for in-situation training to the North Little Rock Fire Department. The fire department will make use of the two houses donated by Jenny Gosser Turner by practicing maneuverers that will all but destroy the structures. The fire fighter training consists of forcible entry, ventilation, search and rescue, and special operations demolition. “It is very rare that we get to actually train on real houses. Too many times restrictions preclude all the training that is vital to our mission. Every firefighter in North Little Rock will go through this training, in addition, this helps complete ISO (Insurance Service Office) directed night training for all three crews in our department, making us better equipped to serve our community. Thank you to Ms. Turner and her family for providing this opportunity.” Assistant Chief Beau Buford, North Little Rock Fire Department.
