DISC GOLF COURSE at Stone Links Park in North Little Rock will celebrate Ribbon Cutting this Thursday.
North Little Rock, Arkansas (Tuesday, November 2, 2021)… A newly created Disc Golf Complex will celebrate a Ribbon Cutting this Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Stone Links Park, 110 Highway 391, North Little Rock. The course is free for all ages to play and will open this Saturday, November 6th. “With the growth of disc golf soaring over the past two years, Mayor Hartwick and the North Little Rock Parks and Recreation Department worked with Friends of Disc Golf Growth to bring the project to fruition at Stone Links Park.” shared Preston Cowan, avid disc golfer and volunteer with Friends of Disc Golf Growth. The new course has four basic tracks ranging from 5,500 - 9,000 feet with multiple tee pads and multiple baskets. Friends of Disc Golf Growth provided over 500 volunteer hours for this project. The project, costing $30,000, was welcomed by Stone Links Neighborhood Association and funded through the North Little Rock Parks and Recreation capital fund. Mayor Hartwick shared, “I have been amazed how many people of all ages play disc golf. We are excited to provide this course to our residents in the east part of town along with the other projects at Stone Links.” Other recent projects at Stone Links Park include:
Playground (installed in 2020): Requested by the neighborhood association; cost approximately $30,000
Restroom: Requested by the neighborhood associations/cricket groups; cost approximately $34,000
Pavilion: Requested by neighborhood association; cost approximately $8,000. (Note: The concrete pad has been installed. The structure/pavilion will be erected in the next couple of months.)
Basketball Court: Requested by the neighborhood association; cost approximately $19,000
