Arkansas Remembers Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary

Join central Arkansas December 5-11, 2016 for a week of commemorative events for the 75th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Arkansas has many ties here, several right here at the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum in North Little Rock:

  • Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum is the only place other than Honolulu, to have two naval vessels that bookend World War II.  The tugboat Hoga fought fires in Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack and the submarine USS Razorback was in Tokyo Bay when Japan surrendered, ending World War II.
  • Hoga fought fires on Battleship Row for 72 continuous hours in Pearl Harbor after the Japanese attack.
  • Hoga is the last floating Navy vessel that was present in Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack.

The week long events will be centered around the ceremony taking place on December 7, at 11:30am in the parking lot of the Arkansas Inland Maritime Museum.
